Diorama Madness *o*

Back Portion of the Bedroom in The Sims 3

Da di da dee da!
I am finally back with a new update!
*confetti and streamers*

Today I wanted to share something that I have been working on for a while.
My MSD Diorama!
I've been working on this diorama since Summer 2012, but after designing and creating the initial prototype of the room, I mostly spent my time thrifting and trying to find things to fill it (it is huge!).
It is only recently that I have been really taking the time to really work on the room itself.

The diorama is intended to be the bedroom of my two main characters.
I originally designed the room in the Sims 3 and then made the the horrible wonderful decision to create the room in real life as well.

Pictured above to the left are the super basic plans I drew up for the room.
The dots on the corners, where the walls meet, represent a pair of hinges that will be place so that the room can be easily folded and stored when not in use.

Pictured to the right is an older picture of the room that was taken before I began painting the walls.
I left the bed in the picture so it would be easy to see how large the room was in comparison.
The walls are made from foam core board because it was cheaper and lighter than plywood, but still sturdy enough. Also, I could easily cut the walls myself and if I made a mistake I could simply go get another board.

Currently, I am working on wood paneling the wall directly behind the bed.
I was trying to just use scrapbook paper to create the look that I wanted, but after many failed attempts (and a very sad printer T.T), I went to Michaels and purchased some Balsa  wood.
I'm going to cut the wood into 1" strips and then stain them after they are secured to the wall.

Wood Paneling. Yummy!
Hopefully everything goes well and I can share pictures of  a more completed room in the future.
Thanks for reading! ^^

A Kiss From Long Ago

Terrible Cell Phone Picture of My WIP Dress.

Long time no post, but I'm back now!
There has been a lot of updates since my last post.
First and foremost, I've been sewing.
Yay!!!

I'd been thinking about making a dress for my HeeAh, now renamed Jin Hee, out of this wool fabric for a while now. The fabric was really suitable for her, but I was a little scared to use it because I haven't really sewn for a while now and I didn't want to waste nice fabric.
I finally stopped being lazy and drafted the patterns for the dress and got sewing. It's still a work in progress and there are definitely some things that need to be fixed, but I think it's coming along nicely so far.

Also, my Taobao shoe order from the GO I joined with MissFlynn, (http://bjdgrouporders.tumblr.com/), arrived back in November and I must say that I'm very pleased with the experience.
This was the first time that I purchased shoes for a doll since around 2009/2010, so I was really excited.
The shoes are lovely and MissFlynn was great to work with.
You can find more pictures of the items that I purchased here and my review of the items here.

Thank you for viewing!
I'll be posting more update over the weekend ~

Cooking By the Book: Dolly Finds... at Home

For the past several months I have been searching for kitchenware/ cookware for my dolls.
After visiting several thrift stores, I suddenly remembered this one item I had when I was a little girl.
It was a cup. A cup from a  1996 "Kitchen Littles" set.

"Kitchen Littles" sets were supposed to be scaled to Barbie sized dolls, but I remembered how large that cup was in comparison to Barbies little, tiny hands.
Then, I started to remember how over-sized most of the items were in comparison to Barbie and I started digging.
Several hours (and a destroyed bedroom) later, my dolls were ready to start frying it up.
Part of my Kitchen Littles collection.
The Cup in Question

Sadly, the "Kitchen Littles" appliances (stove, fridge, etc.) are waaay to short for Msd sized dolls,
but they do seem to be the right width.
I have been boosting them up on little card board boxes to make them the right height.

I am seriously so happy that I was able to find all of these things.
Especially in my house.
Never throwing things away does come in handy sometimes.

Shoe Addict!: A Tale of Empty Pockets

Paul Zhangby Boots and Gift Earrings

I haven't posted in a while and I wanted to show off some of the new items I've gotten in the mail for my dollies!!

I've been on a shoe spree and the shoes pictured only mark the beginning.
The are boots made by Paul Zhangby on Ebay for 22" Tonner dolls and MSDs.
As you can see, I couldn't decide between the pink and the mint ones so I decided to get them both. (LOL)
I think they look wonderful and they came with a lovely pair of (free!) earrings that I will probably turn into pendants or hair-clips for my girl.

I also purchased these cute little loafers from MyBayer2008 (who ships incredibly fast :O).
Ugly picture of cute shoes.
I think they are really adorable. Also, they work really well with                                   both boys and girls, which is a definite plus.
Lastly, I did a bad thing and hopped on a GO that is being run by MissFlynn
(http://bjdgrouporders.tumblr.com/) and I must say that I have completely lost my mind.
I spent hours compiling a list of cute shoes that I wanted for my soon-to-be re-shelled Mihwa and so far I have about 9 pairs of shoes set to order.
Crazy times!
Hopefully, that order goes well and I'll have lots of cute, new shoes to show off in the near future.

A New Do...

Servin' up some wonky eyed realness.

A made a new wig for my boy last night.
It needs some work, but I like it a lot.
I really love the waves. :O

Everything is a work in progress for him at the moment.
His new face-up isn't completed because I ran out of sealant.
The jeans I was making for him still don't have a waistband
because my sewing machine needs oil.
Grrrrrrrr

Also, I got some new brown eyes for him from 'Mybayer2008' on ebay a couple of weeks ago.
They are his first 10mm eyes. The eyes he had in before were 8mm eyes that came with 'MyDolling HeeAh' and they were very gappy. These new eyes a very nice looking, but I've been have a super hard time positioning them the way I want them,
But hey they were only about $7 so I can't really complain that much.

Dreams Do Come True

Ahhhhhh! I'm so happy right now.
Last night, I had a dream that I found some amazing things at the thrift store. So of course I had to make a trip there today. And tada! I found a brass frame for my kids bed for only $5. I seriously have been looking for one of these for a few years now, but everytime I found one it was either too narrow or too expensive.
It does have a couple of issues, but those can be easily fixed.
Overall I think it was an awesome find!
